Autopsy Confirms Murder in Barve Case: Youth Died of Asphyxiation

Ambede-Nagargao, Goa: The death of 24-year-old Shravan Devidas Barve, who was found dead near his home in Ambede-Nagargao, Sattari, on Tuesday morning, has now been confirmed as a murder. The postmortem report, released on Wednesday, revealed that Shravan died due to asphyxiation caused by forceful compression of the neck. Shravan's body was discovered by locals around 9:00 AM on Tuesday, lying approximately 200 meters from the Hanuman temple in the village. Initial circumstances surrounding his death were deemed suspicious, prompting a police investigation. According to family members, on Monday night, Shravan's parents and brother had gone to their other house in Honda. Shravan had reportedly stayed back to watch an IPL cricket match at a friend's residence and was expected to return home later. Illegal Structures Near Nerul Bridge Demolished in Goa

Panaji, Goa - April 17, 2025 - The Public Works Department (PWD) has undertaken a demolition drive to remove illegal and unauthorized structures situated on government land in the vicinity of the Nerul Bridge. The action, which commenced on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, follows a court order and prior eviction notices issued by the collector in December 2024. Key Points: Demolition of Illegal Structures : The PWD razed approximately 31 structures on Wednesday, with the remaining expected to be demolished on Thursday. These structures included shops and a fish market.   Reason for Demolition : Authorities stated that these structures were causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians, obstructing traffic flow, and hindering planned road widening of the major district road (MDR) passing through Nerul.   Prior Warnings Issued : Owners of the demolished structures were reportedly informed about the road widening plans around 18 months ago and were given a 15-day eviction notice...
